- I went back to Vacouver for the Olympics this weekend for a very quick trip at the urging of my best friend/facebook wife Leanne. Pictures will be posted tomorrow.
- Beer was drank, free food was consumed. Ben ,you should be happy that I spent 4 hours at the Atlantic Canada house consuming pitcher after pitcher of O’Keefes and Moosehead beer and dining on the East Coasts finest. If Halifax is anything like the Pavillion, I’m moving there by next week.
- I take better drunk pictures than sober ones. I didn’t need a Degree in Journalism to figure that out.
- Multiculturalism is ending up getting interviewed by New Zealand’s Sky TV while hammered, trying to convince a man from Norway to give me his passport to get into the Heiniken House for free(it didn’t work), trying to bribe an Atlantic security guard to let me into a house with free chocolate (it did’t work), trying to convince a lovely Chinese man to give me his ticket to the Men’s USA/Canada hockey game he scored for the low, low price of 6000$ (it didn’t work) and trying to convince a German man who didn’t understand NO to making out very well that I was a lesbian (that worked).
- I started with 2 pins at the Olympic games and with savvy trading ended up with 7.
- Making it back for the hockey game meant getting up at 8:00am after partying half the night to speed back to Kamloops while extremely hungover and not stopping to pee despite the urge to make it to the pub with exactly 7 minutes to spare before it started.
- Despite the hangover from hell, all the sirens, noisemakers, screaming crowds, and the desire to nap under the table watching the game at On The Rocks with the lovely Amber was not only worth it, but pure on the edge of your seat excitment. When we won the noise was deafening. People were crying, hugging, screaming. It was Canadian pride at its finest. I have to say, as much as Canadians kicked ass and took named the U.S. team made us work hard for it and put up a great game.
- 17 days. 14 Gold Medals. New World Record.
- I was in bed by 9pm last night
- And yet my brain is still mush today.

I feel just the same way – nine hours of sleep and I’m a zombie.
After the last weekend, I could have gone for 12 each night easily.
How fun!!! Dude… I bet the head-mush is worth getting a chance to see your country at the olympics! By taking drunk pics do you mean snapping the camera or posing? haha because either way that would rock. I can’t do either whist drunk. Or sober for that matter.
I think a little of column A and a little of Column B. I look bad in all pics, but when drunk I seem to embrace it more and ham it up.
I’m exhausted from doing NOTHING this weekend – no wonder you’re tired! Must have been some atmosphere this weekend though!
It was worth every second of lost sleep even if I’m dying now from exhaustion.
Sooooooooo happy you beat the US. Always love it when they get knocked down a peg or three.
It was a nice victory, that’s all I have to say about that.
I’m so glad Canada won last night. D said we would have had some bad sex otherwise. I informed him, that had the men’s team lost, I would have left immediately.
You’re so lucky to have been able to visit Vancouver during the games. It looked like pure craziness. The scene @ Yonge and Dundas lookin absolutely INSANE. I was happy to be home safe on the couch, even if the closing ceremonies were kinda brutal…. except for a few bits. BEAVER BALLOONS!
I hope other countries don’t think all Canadians have giant beavers….Congrats on getting the good sex!
Moosehead beer is wicked awesome by the way.
YESYESYES!!
Come here immediately.
Can I stay with you and cuddle in between you and the Newf and Calvin and Theo?
Had SO MUCH FUN with you yesterday!
I still have a bit of a headache from those damn noisemakers, though!
It was a 2 day headache but still comletely worth it.
Great game. One of the best I’ve watched since game 7 last year (Go Pens! Go Sid!) I wouldn’t have wanted any two other teams to be there, although the result could have been a bit different. That said, there’s no shame in taking the silver behind a great squad like Canada.
Sounds like you had a great time and I can’t wait to see the pics.
Hey, some of the U.S. team members are hot! I wouldn’t kick them out of bed for getting silver.
i use the lesbian angle all the time to get men to stop hitting on me.
works wonders…
So if you’re a lesbian does that mean we can make out?
You mean all women I hit on AREN’T lesbians?!?!?!?!??!
I’m sure 95% really are. Only reason.
So jealous. So very, VERY jealous.
Adventures are the best, aren’t they?
Yesssssssss. Me thinks we need to have an adventure together.
Great win in the ice-hockey. Maple Leaves all the way! I spent six days in Vancouver in Jan ’87. Beautiful, picturesque city – loved Stanley Park but didn’t get to Whistler. Got hammered though, like you.
Sounds like you need to come back! I’ll buy you a beer this time.
Maybe your next occupation could be drunk photographer extrordinaire?
Although you might be busy being a pirate / blogging wench, it seems to kind of fit with those other two: pirate/blogging wench/drunken photographer. Triple threat!
Babe,
We were drinking The Beloved Alexander Keith’s.! I’ll Forgive You..This Time
It sounds like you needs to strengthen your pirating skills and just take more of what you want.
